Landlord - 'Families have made memories living in our property'

Over the next few weeks we will take a look at a few different landlords we work with. Our clients rent their properties for various reasons and we wanted to take a look at a few of those different reasons. We reached out to our clients and here they tell us in their own words why they decided to rent.

We have rented this period cottage for just over two years. At the point of instructing us, our landlord had a toddler, so this was their family home. They had a fantastic opportunity to move abroad and had to decide what to do with their home.

Should we sell it or rent it? These questions are often asked to us, and we often find ourselves mulling them over between ourselves. We always reach the same conclusion; keep it, we love it, we know others will love it, and eventually one day we will live in it and love it even more. When buying a period property, you take a gamble. Old houses are to be lived in, loved for all of their nooks and idiosyncrasies, and the history that is in the fabric (or the chimney). While renting our Victorian house, the right family needs to come along and love it just as much as we do. We have been lucky; families have made memories living in our property, and this adds to the historical story of our home. One day we will return, but until that day comes, we are happy for others to enjoy our space and the positive energy that our little house brings to those who live there.

Our client hadn't bought their property as an 'investment', this was their home. Letting their home has meant they could grab the opportunity they were offered and at some point in the future they can return to the home they love, whilst other families can enjoy in the meantime.

If you have ever wondered if letting your home could be an option for you, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to call us on 01932 23297 or you can use the link below to find out what your property could rent for or book us in to visit.
