MOVING HOME - BEWARE OF CYBER FRAUD

MOVING HOME - BEWARE OF CYBER FRAUD

Take extra care when transferring funds when moving home

When moving home you have to transfer large sums of money. Cyber criminals are aware of this and they can replicate emails that look very similar to an email you would receive from your estate agent or solicitor asking for funds to be transferred.

We advise to read through the email carefully and make sure there aren't any irregularities. If you have any doubt call the company that sent you the email to confirm everything over the phone.

Any time you have to transfer funds we recommend you transfer an odd number of pence to the bank details you’re given then phone & 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 to the recipient whose voice you know to check how much they've received.
